So, I've noticed we've gotten some new joiners in the last week or so... welcome to the forums! I just added this board for general shit-shooting.

Here's a thread for you guys to introduce yourselves and let us know how you found us. Any questions or issues about the forum are also fair game. Have fun!

Cheers :)

I am a cook, artist, ex- hippie,.patriot.
I was made aware of our Republics plight in 2002. It has been hell ever since - being awake and all.
I will try to keep my facts straight and give research links.
Glad i found you.

new here
I'm in the hvac industry. and i am a survivalist.  I've been visiting this site for some time now, but only signed up recently.  The News articles are incredibly well written and I find myself checking the site everyday for new articles.  I look forward to learning a lot from everyone here and hope to be able to contribute my own knowledge in the future.

I found this site by accident late last week while reading an article.

The Surveillance Society: Trading Freedom For The Illusion Of Safety
By Giordano Bruno

I thought I would register at the forum just to see what was happening.

I'm a history/political news junkie from Toronto, Canada.

I sort of maintain a news aggregator site which I update daily and I'm always on the prowl for content.

Keep smilin' and don't let yer mouse byte yuh!

I'm a college student and free thinker. I've learned a lot from Bruno's articles, and enjoy reading them. I check almost everyday for new articles. I think Giordano has a great way of laying everything out, well written, and with credible sources for his articles.

I've always distrusted government and those who influence it, and it's come to a head lately. I believe I'm the first of a great wave of people learning what's happening to our beloved country.

**EDIT** I found this website when one of Giordano's article's was linked to another news website I frequent. I read the article then proceeded to read the rest of his articles. Have been keeping up with it the last few months and just decided to join today.

Ha! Security settings? We don't need no stinkin' security settings! I run Ubuntu. I laugh at anything surrounding security, spam or viruses.

(...it also helps that I'm a ex-hacker and sysadmin...)

Thanks!

Hey! You're Canadian!

Howdy Neighbor!

Nice database. Mind if I pull it down and store it? (I do this to sites I consider valuable. If we have TEOTWAWKI, I'll then still have access to it.)

...and I must say this:

"DAMN! You work hard!"

Has anyone else gone to this? Wow! We need to donate a butt to this guy. He's worked his off and probably the last three donated ones. I am, like, in awe...

Hi! NetRanger

It's just a hobby .... Not work.
I retired on my 50th birthday and have been bored silly since 1998.

I believe that it is the largest non-commerical database in North America.
At least 10 times larger than InformationClearingHouse.
Close to 10 thousand news/documentary clips.

I think it would take you an eternity to download the database.

On January 20, (my last backup) the size of the post-file was 7,538,396mb.

I host my site on my own server in my own home and my ISP chokes me with upload limits.

I'm sort of hiding or running a server (an ol' Pentium4) on the sneak.

I host a half dozen sites for people as well. I'm into designing websites and stuff like that.

I'm presently working on this site as an example. I do all the graphics and stuff like that too.
http://tiny.cc/zvmQQ

I have chosen not to host my site commercially because it would kill me to pay money for something that is not making money or at least paying the 150 bucks for hosting.

I'm content to remain as is.

Oh, it will take me a while. Once I turn it on, it will run 24x7. I'll limit it to 10kbps so it won't hit you hard.

I do the same here at my place. I host a few sites and mess around. I've got them all pointed to the DHCP address my provider gives me. It changes every couple of months and I'll have a few hours downtime while the DNS resynchronizes.

Hi! NetRanger

About a year or so ago, somebody asked me for a copy of my database.
They had just opened up a forum and wanted content so that the new site would have an instant presence in Mouse Land.

I had to edit the file and "Find/Replace" every instant where my site name appeared with the new site URL.
And a new path where the site owner intended to store images and documents.

It took two days for the task to complete auto-pilot.

Then I just put it on a disk and snail-mailed it to the person.

The site owner paid me 3 thousand bucks.

He then paid 30 bucks for a Google advertisment, and which had his site name appear within first page of Google search terms.
Google rewards site owners with preferred search term results if you buy Google advertising.

I'm so happy to have stumbled across this site!
I seem to spend most of my time surfing the web researching the illuminati with one hand and holding my little baby to my breast with the other.  I consider myself an activist here in the UK as i write '911 was an inside job on any money in my possession.

Hi! jung at heart

I've read quite abit and watched all the videos about 9-11 Conspiracy theories.

I'm not prepared to clearly state that the U.S. government was directly involved as a policy of sorts.

I don't know anything about buiding structure and I'm not an architect.

I'm not saying that it is impossible, It may well be "Likely", but I can't say it with any determination of fact.

It's the same with global warming. I'm not a sceientist, so it is way over my pay-grade to know anything about weather and glaciers.
